I just turned 30 and this is what I know for sure

THE BIG 3-0

Turning 30 is a milestone to remember.

One often laced in fear, deep self-reflection and rejoicing in all that is new and possible.

On the 6th of April, I turned the big 3-0 and instead of retreating to that place of smallness (and flipping out about getting older), I decided to embrace this coming of age with an equally as big celebration among my dearest and nearest, of course!

My 30th celebration was the combined efforts of my favourite people!

The entire family, including Tatey and my bestie Gemmy, diligently followed instructions and decorated the venue with all things Janette, including an entire wall dedicated to my life’s journey thus far, the cute baby ones and the awkward teenage discovery years included! Seeing this collage was an experience in itself and it reminded me just how much love I have for this life. Thank you to my mum and dad especially for your creative work here.

At 3.33pm, the party got started. I wanted the celebration to be all about togetherness, oneness and unity, so upon arrival each guest received a friendship bracelet made by me. There was also an area where people could reflect and write their life mantra, beautiful musical performances by my man Tate and my brother Richard (and a surprise dance show!), speeches that inspired, and an abundance of love, laugher and happiness everywhere.

Come 11.11pm, the party came to a close (an auspicious time when we know the angels are listening).

I would like to thank sincerely – in addition to all the gorgeous people who helped and the 100 guests who attended my party – my incredible brother Robert. He was the head organiser, as well as the MC, as well as the hostess (he’s an epic multi-tasker this one) who was responsible for coordinating the entire evening. I still have people contacting me saying how amazing the night was! Thank you so much Robert. Biggest love to you.

My Journey choosing heart first & what I know for sure.

In the weeks and days leading up to the big day I did notice something very interesting, I was asked several times if I was scared to turn 30, which made me think it over, but the answer was (and still is)…

No, not all.   Why?

Because I am without a doubt exactly where I want to be. I feel fulfilled in every way possible, and turning 30 is a time to celebrate this happiness.

25, on the other hand, was a different story.

As the day clicked over and my birthday dawned, I was riddled with fear. The deep scary kind. I wasn’t where I wanted to be. I had no real direction and was in a relationship that was sure to end soon…

Life had different plans for me and looking back, I am graciously thankful for every bump, pivot and curve because without them I wouldn’t be here today absolutely loving my life!

My big day started with an abundant breakfast with Tatey (because a bday girl needs her nourishment) followed by a long weekend of gifts, dining at superb restaurants with delicious food, going for a bike ride, visiting friends and family, Tatey treating me to a spa treatment (the massage was divine), celebratory cocktails, early morning beach walks, detoxing in a warm cocoon thingy (I don’t know how else to explain it – it sounds odd, but was amazing) and being showered in cuddles and lots of love.

I told you it was a long weekend and I got spoilt. So much so, I still feel overwhelmed with gratitude for the people in my life and their generosity. I am one lucky girl to have each and every one of you in my life and thank you so much for all the beautiful well wishes online. Your love was definitely felt.

While my birthday may very well be over now, as an Aries, I cherish what it means to worship life and joy, and decided to extend the big 3-0 celebration. Yep, I called for a week-long celebration so I could include each of you, my beautiful and supportive readers.

Another Aries quality is that we adore random acts of kindness, and to mark the occasion, I have created a FREE GIFT (https://www.inspirefreedom.com.au/free-gifts/) for you – because you deserve to be spoilt too!

We’re always receiving subtle (and sometimes not-so-subtle!) messages from the Universe, guiding us towards love. Sometimes we need to check in with what these messages are saying, and be open to change. This affirmation is for you to print out and even frame if you wish. Place it somewhere visible so you can see it daily as a gentle reminder to be drawn to what you love.

Johnathon Swift says:

“May you live all the days of your life.”

The big 3-0 was yet another reminder of just how remarkable life is and how it is here for the taking, if we show up, serve and live our purpose.

I intend to live each and every day, and I mean really live – feel, own, embody, rise, anchor, expand – and all other derivatives too!

I hope you will join me lovely.

Let’s live our greatest life together.

I would love to hear how you intend to use your free gift. Share with me in the comment box below and may you be guided by love.
